Combining extensive travel experience with a lifelong appreciation for art and design, Helen Kensinger brings a unique and personal approach to every landscape design project. Her love for teaching her clients to "observe and enjoy" their gardens through the seasons has brought lasting designer-client relationships.

Born in Holland, and having lived in California, New York, Germany and New Jersey, Kensinger-designed gardens are wide spread. From container gardens to full renovations of entire properties, including driveway design, patios and retaining walls, to plant editing and staging projects, Helen's designs are always in harmony with their location. Stonework, architectural elements and plants are carefully selected based on each property's unique challenges and the dreams and desires of its owners.

After becoming a Master Gardener, Helen founded Kensinger Garden Design (formerly HMK garden design) in 2001. She earned her certificate in Landscape Design from the New York Botanical Garden in 2004.

Her work, from designing private residences to community and school projects, and as groundskeeper and docent of historic Grasmere Park and Historic Preservation in Maplewood, NJ, have earned much recognition in the community including an Historic Preservation award.
